Fire by Night, by Loree Lough, is a Christian fiction book. It contains 137 pages and is the fourth book in “The American Adventure” series. This book takes place in Boston, MA during 1635.

Fire by Night is about Phillip Smythe. In this book, a cyclone sweeps through Boston, and Phillip’s father’s carpentry shop is flattened. To make money, Father goes to England to build furniture for the king. (He is a very good carpenter.) While Father is gone, a fire burns up their house. On top of all that, Phillip’s sister dies after giving birth to a baby daughter. Phillip blames God, but soon learns that it all happened for a reason. Soon, Phillip, with the help of his brother John, re-build Father’s shop. And, after twenty months, Father comes home! In the end, everything turns out all right.

One of the best things about this book is that Phillip learns to trust God in everything. That is a lesson that everyone needs to learn. God is always in control!

The rest of the books in this series are very good, as well. I highly recommend all of them.
