Purpose

Welcome to Great Books for God’s Girls! As a conservative Christian young lady, I know what a struggle it is to find godly reading material. This blog was started with the vision to make it a place where Christian girls could find reviews of excellent books to read!

As those who have read many of my reviews probably know, I am very specific about the types of books I read. I try to follow Philippians 4:8 and my parents’ rules as a guideline for books. Based on these things, I choose not to read books that contain romance, which, for me, includes just about any type of “boy/girl relationships”. At the beginning of my reviews, you’ll see a “Romance Content” category, in which I tell about any type of romance in the book.

I also am greatly disappointed when I find curse words or euphemisms in books, and thus it is very seldom that I review a book that has those things in it. (If I do, I try to make that clear in my review.) One other thing that you should know is that I personally only use the King James Bible. I try to let my readers know if a version other than the KJB is used in each book that I review.

Some genres that I enjoy are historical fiction, inspirational or biographical non-fiction, mystery and suspense, as well as contemporary fiction. The vast majority of the books that I read are unashamedly Christian, though I occasionally read books that give me insight into unbelievers’ viewpoints (usually recommended by my dad).
